Introducing baby-logger!

They said "sleep when the baby sleeps." I heard "ship when the baby sleeps." 🚢👶

I’m currently on parental leave, which effectively makes me the Chief Operating Officer of a tiny, very demanding startup that yells at me at 3 AM. Naturally, instead of resting, I decided to vibe code my way through the chaos.

Introducing baby-logger. Over-engineered? Maybe. Absolutely necessary for my sanity? Yes.

I needed a way to track feeds and "output" (💩), but using a pen and paper felt too… legacy. So I built a repo to digitally transform my diaper changing station. Because if you can't measure it, you can't manage it.

The "Over-Engineered" Setup I’m running the app on a Raspberry Pi 5 within my local network. Since I already have Pi-hole running, I set up a local DNS record to map the IP. Now, instead of fumbling with numbers, I just navigate to http://baby.logger. It’s the little things that save you when you're operating on two hours of sleep.

Key Feature:

  • 🌓 Dark Mode: This is non-negotiable. I added a dark mode toggle because opening a bright white screen during a 3 AM feed is a sensory violation I am not willing to endure.

Check it out if you like babies, vibe coding, or just want to see what happens when a sleep-deprived engineer has a laptop and 20 minutes of free time.
